Marlene Street is a 3 story residential apartment building concept for a site at Mount Gravatt East, Brisbane. The apartments are characterized by textured and natural materials that aim to engage and integrate the development with contemporary style – including timber, glass, and stone. The planning of the development is composed of split level 2 and 3 bedroom apartment units built around communal open spaces with parking at ground level. The developer’s intent was to maximize the number of units over a 3 story building max. Its aesthetics focused on simplicity in form and working in harmony with the slope on the land. Carefully selected vegetation along the driveway and entry points of ground level apartments create a pleasant journey through the development site.
